Home Remedies For A Healthier Scalp
We love our hair. To us, this is the most important part when it comes to beauty standards. You can have the most glamorous dress and shoes in the room but if your hair is not close to perfect then your look completely falls apart. Depending on how you style it, it allows us to express ourselves. It can either show off our personality or what our current emotions are. It is very versatile when it comes to making ourselves look good. This love, to some an obsession, pushed us to try out different methods and products to make our beautiful locks look even more beautiful. From natural treatments to commercial ones, we will try almost anything to achieve perfection. So much focus goes into making sure that our hair is healthy and perfect that we sometimes forget one more important thing when it comes to hair care. Our scalp. Healthier scalp means healthier hair. Give your scalp the attention it deserves and you will be rewarded with healthier and shinier hair.
Do Not Overwash
Washing your hair every day may lead to an irritated scalp. Daily washing will strip all of the natural oils on your scalp which can cause itching and dryness. If you have a naturally oily scalp, you can wash every other day while having dry or normal scalp, two to three times a week of hair washing is enough.
Coconut oil is a godsend if you suffer from dry scalp. It will moisturize your scalp and prevents it from dryness. As a bonus, it has antifungal and antibacterial properties which also improves your scalp’s health.
Speaking of oil, regular oiling is also recommended if you want a healthier scalp. Oiling the scalp improves blood circulation which promotes hair growth. Coconut oil is preferred but other oils like olive oil, argon oil and sesame oil are also great alternatives. Remember to gently massage your scalp when oiling.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is another great treatment if you suffer from dry scalp. It has antifungal and antimicrobial properties that prevent bacteria from drying out your scalp. Its use as a natural exfoliant helps shed dead skin cells and promotes the growth of new ones.
